This book does not provide step by step tutorial to design 3D models. S.I Units is used. Predominantly used Third Angle Projection. This book is for AUTODESK FUSION 360 and Other Feature- Based Modeling Software such as Autodesk Inventor, Catia, SolidWorks, NX, Solid Edge, AutoCAD, Creo etc. It is intended to provide Drafters, Designers and Engineers with enough CAD exercises for practice on FUSION 360 . It includes almost all types of exercises that are necessary to provide, clear, concise and systematic information required on industrial machine part drawings. Third Angle Projection is intentionally used to familiarize Drafters, Designers and Engineers in Third Angle Projection to meet the expectation of world wide Engineering drawing print. Clear and well drafted drawing help easy understanding of the design. This book is for Beginner, Intermediate and Advance CAD users. These exercises are from Basics to Advance level. Each exercises can be assigned and designed separately. No Exercise is a prerequisite for another. All dimensions are in mm. Note: Assume any missing dimensions.

# AUTODESK FUSION 360 EXERCISES — Reading Guide
## 【One-Line Pitch】
A pure practice workbook containing 200 CAD exercises ranging from beginner to advanced levels, designed for anyone who wants to build muscle memory in Fusion 360 or any other feature-based modeling software — no tutorials, just drawings to replicate.
## 【Book Arc】
- **Opening (~0%)**: Front matter and publisher introduction establish the book's purpose — a practice companion, not a step-by-step tutorial. The author, Sachidanand Jha, positions this as part of the CADin360 book family aimed at drafters, designers, and engineers.
- **Early (~0–25%)**: Basic exercises begin, introducing simple part geometry and fundamental sketching/extrude workflows. These are intended to build confidence with the interface and core modeling operations.
- **Middle (~25–75%)**: Intermediate exercises ramp up complexity, incorporating more intricate features, multiple operations per part, and designs that require planning the modeling sequence. The preface clarifies that no exercise depends on another — each can be tackled independently.
- **Late (~75–100%)**: Advanced exercises push toward industrial machine part drawings, requiring a solid grasp of feature-based modeling conventions, including third-angle projection interpretation.
- **Ending (~100%)**: The book closes with the same practical philosophy it opened with — assume missing dimensions, use SI units, and treat each drawing as a standalone challenge. The final pages include standard copyright and usage notices.
## 【Key Takeaways】
- **200 independent practice drawings** (Late): The core value proposition — a large volume of exercises that can be completed in any order, with no prerequisites between them. This makes it ideal for self-paced skill building.
- **No step-by-step tutorials** (Late): The book deliberately omits instructions. You must interpret the drawings and figure out the modeling strategy yourself — this is the intended learning mechanism.
- **Third-angle projection throughout** (Late): All drawings use third-angle projection to familiarize readers with the international standard used in worldwide engineering prints. This is a deliberate pedagogical choice, not an oversight.
- **SI units and millimeter dimensions** (Late): All exercises are dimensioned in millimeters, and the book explicitly tells you to assume any missing dimensions — a practical nod to real-world drawing interpretation where not everything is fully specified.
- **Cross-software applicability** (Late): While titled for Fusion 360, the exercises work with any feature-based modeling software — Inventor, SolidWorks, CATIA, NX, Creo, Solid Edge, and AutoCAD. The skills transfer because the underlying modeling logic is the same.
- **Progressive difficulty from basics to advanced** (Late): Exercises are organized from simple to complex, allowing beginners to start at the front and advanced users to jump to the later sections.
- **Industrial machine part focus** (Late): The exercise set is drawn from industrial machine part drawings, giving practice on the kinds of geometry you'd encounter in real engineering work rather than abstract shapes.
## 【Reading Tips】
- **Skim the front matter** (~0%): The preface contains the most important information in the book — the rules of engagement (SI units, third-angle projection, assume missing dimensions). Read it once, then never look back.
- **Treat the book as a workout log, not a textbook**: Don't read it cover to cover. Pick an exercise that matches your current skill level, complete it, compare your result with the drawing, and move on. The book's structure supports this — each exercise is self-contained.
- **Start with Exercise 01 and work sequentially if you're a beginner**: The early exercises are designed to be simpler, and working through them in order builds a natural progression of skills. Advanced users can jump to the later pages.
- **Expect frustration if you're new to CAD**: Since there are no instructions, you'll need to know the basics of Fusion 360 (or your chosen software) before starting. This book is for practicing and refining skills, not learning the interface from scratch.
- **Use the "assume missing dimensions" rule as a learning tool**: When a dimension is ambiguous, make a reasonable assumption and note it. This mirrors real engineering practice where drawings are rarely perfect.
## 【Coverage Limits】
The excerpts primarily cover the book's front matter, preface, and copyright pages. The actual exercise content (drawings and models) is not included in the source material, so this guide cannot describe specific exercises, their difficulty progression in detail, or the visual style of the drawings. The book's structure and philosophy are clear, but the exercises themselves remain unexamined.
